Sep15/05: Oh my, this is not what it seems:

Survey Finds More Women Try Bisexuality
More women, particularly those in their late teens and 20s, are experimenting with bisexuality or at least feel more comfortable reporting same-sex encounters, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The survey, released Thursday by the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics, found that 11.5 percent of women, ages 18 to 44, said they've had at least one sexual experience with another woman in their lifetimes, compared with about 4 percent of women, ages 18 to 59, who said the same in a comparable survey a decade earlier.

While I know that were these numbers decreasing it'd be ignored by the media, isn't it funny how news of chicks on chicks has more appeal than of boys on boys? I ran the headlines tonight, and there's not a thing from this study on male homosexuality, which, according to the study (CDC site here), reads at 6% of all males age 15-44 over their lifetimes and 3% of males over the last 12 months having had at least one "sexual contact" with another man. While it's no news that these numbers are not exactly prime for the Roman Empire or the Royal Navy of old, it ought to be news that these figures, CDC sponsorship and all, are no where near the famed "ten percent" of Alfred Kinsey. It is headline news, though, that "more women" are going down the fuzzy road... err, "trying" bisexuality.

My guess is there's not a lot of true lezziness herein, at least not anything to satisfy the Andrea Dworkin types of the world (if you must, photo here...she died, btw, earlier this year). Today's female homosexuality flows with Miller Lite far more than to feminism or core female sexuality. Chicks on chicks makes great airplay, especially during football season, while there's nothing built on boys mooching boys. There has to be -- has to be -- a cultural lesson therein, and I think it's this: today's "more women" "trying" bisexuality has nothing to do with female empowerment.

Quite the opposite, rather.

Sorry you old feminists, but you've only taught the girls to act like boys, and in the end they're only doing things the boys want. You blew it, gals.
