Unconvinced by capitalism? What, like "capitalism" needs "convincing"? Before you misunderstand me here, here's the Bromley manta on that Marxist word, "capitalism": ALL ECONOMICS ARE POLITICS. Whatever "capitalism" may be in China, it ain't a free market, and it ain't liberty. Capitalism was quite at home in the Kaiser's Germany, equally so in Hitler's. Dare we say, too, that Stalin practiced, albeit in a cruel form, capitalism? At least the socialists of the early 1900s were honest about this, such as the Socialist mayor of Schenecdtady, NY, who in 1912 said of the giant trusts of the day:
I dream of ridding the political discourse of
the word "capitalism." Please, let us speak for what truly benefits mankind, and
"capitalism" may have a part in it, but only a part, and not the essence -- try:
"liberty," "freedom of association," and "the pursuit of happiness." Back to: index |
