Today George W. Bush will take the oath for his second term. Before he becomes our next president, he will have been our last president. He may be the same man, but it is more importantly into the same office that he walks, now twice, an office that is not his but of the American people. It is the President he becomes today, President Bush. Of all he did, without which and without whom we have no
America, George Washington's greatest service (scared ya, didn't I, with that
"George..."!) was to enter the office as the President and not as Washington the
man. No matter what you think of our outgoing/ incoming President, take a look
at the ceremony today, and let there be joy, for it is, truly, a joyous,
miraculous occasion. Here for previous entry |
