Feb/2005
New Bromley's Automotive Book Reviews up!

Media and Event Appearances:

Feb 12/05: Bromley book signing at the Antique Automobile Club of America annual meeting at Philadelphia. Hope to see you there!

Jan 21/05: Celebrating the President's new ride in the article, Limo designed to shield Bush -- and sell cars, The Boston Globe quoted from the book, Stretching It: The Story of the Limousine. They screwed up my website address and failed to include mine and Tom Mazza's name, but, heh, any news is good news, even if misspelled. Thankfully, The Globe straightened out here: For The Record.

Jan 21/05: Speaking of Tom, he and our book are featured in this month's Limo Digest:  Tom and our book from Limo Digest: Tom Mazza is on the Move!

Jan 20/05: BROMLEY appearance in the Taft segment of the History Channel's The Presidents documentary. They had a smiling BROMLEY with a happy laugh over Taft's humor, and they left it at that, an otherwise bored, depressing take on the Big Guy.
Here for why.

Dec /04: The Ohioana Association and the Cincinnati Public Library kindly included BROMLEY's book on Taft in their celebration of 2004's books on Ohio things and people.

Dec/04: BROMLEY endorsement appears on the back of the great new book by David Burton: William Howard Taft, Confident Peacemaker. See the brief review here.

See also Dr. Burton's other new book, a concise, and precise review of the Taft-Roosevelt relationship: Taft, Roosevelt, and the Limits of Friendship

Nov/04: BROMLEY appearance in History Channel's Modern Marvels show,  "Presidential Movers." Fun stuff! that includes unique film of the Presidential limousine that was assisted by   BROMLEY.

Nov/04: BROMLEY appearance in Speed Channel show on the JFK limousine.

Oct/04: BROMLEY speech at the Heritage Museum and Gardens, Sandwich, MA on Taft's presidential automobile, a survivor at the museum. With apologies to Yankees fans, this speech brought the Sox Taft's old good luck, which helped them win the 1912 World Series. Taft listened in on that series in perhaps the first ever baseball broadcast: he had naval stations wire scores to his yacht on the way down the East coast

Sep/04: Presented BROMLEY's paper, The Constitution's Bodyguard at the 2004 Woodrow Wilson National Symposium at Staunton, Virginia.

May/04: BROMLEY thoughts on the great Long Island Parkway featured in webzine article, William Vanderbilt is a "hero" for Long Is Motor Parkway.

Mar/04: BROMLEY presented the paper, Early Automobiles and Airplanes: The Cultural Lag (Or Why Americans Didn't Care About Henry Ford and Orville and Wilbur Wright Until After 1909) at the Mar/31- Apr/3 Automotive History Conference at the Packard Museum in Dayton, OH.

Elsewhere, just posted a really nice, new review of Stretching It: The Story of the Limousine.

Feb/04: BROMLEY conducted three interviews for documentaries on Presidents and presidential transportation. Coming soon on the History and Speed channels.

Also, BROMLEY contributed to an Ohio Cable News piece on President's Day regarding W.H. Taft.

Dec/ 03: Two important reviews on BROMLEY's book,
William Howard Taft and the First Motoring Presidency: click here.
